Hi, I'm Bella Bahari.
A medical doctor turned full time stay-at-home-mom who then became an accidental entrepreneur and CEO of a multi 7-figure business I built with my husband and now, a life coach.
This is my story >7 years ago, I left what the society would call the dream life.
A high flying medical career in the UK, dual income household, stable job 10 minutes walk from home across a lush green park.
I've had that burning desire for years then, but I couldn't bring myself to 'simply' quit. So I did what seemed to be a smart, calculated move on my part - I got myself pregnant.
I was so desperate for a break that I thought the 1 year maternity break would give me enough time to re-evaluate my career decision.
Deep down, I knew I wasn't going to return to medical field.
- The frustration of an unfulfilling soul-sucking job..
- The burning desire to leave it all behind..
- The excitement and possibilities of what could be..
All this sounds familiar to you?
Yet the fear of the unknown get you feeling stuck. Instead of moving forward towards clarity, you're in an endless loop of wondering and what-ifs.
(However you feel, I can assure you, there's another way of moving through this frustration other than making a baby.)
My passion changed at least 4 times.
Yet there was one career that supported through my journey.
I returned home to Malaysia in August 2017. Between my husband (Adam) and I, we have a 3-month-old baby in tow and 27 boxes of belongings from the life we built in UK for the past 7 years. The identity shift was incredibly hard.
For 2 years, I became a full time stay-at-home-mom.
And in 2019, Adam and I started Absorich, a financial education company together from the spare room in our 3-bed apartment that we rented from my mom at half price.
From then on, I've had multiple gigs.
- Eczema Littles, a resource supporting parents of babies with eczema
- Virtual Assistant offering support for small businesses
- Copywriting services - I was particularly good at this - and it paid well!
- Online launch & marketing strategies - another specialty I truly enjoyed given my own business background
- A life coach for Inner Leadership & Career Success - the one you're seeing now!
Through all this, the one role that has been supporting me both financial and skill-wise was me as the CEO of Absorich. From a team of husband and wife, it has now become a multi 7-figure business with almost 20 team members onboard and a lifestyle office with swimming pool and gym.
Here's the thing though, I feel like I've outgrown that career role. That it has served its purposes for me, and it's time to move along. (read: another career move)
It was then when I realized that my unique genius and Inner Leadership has been calling me towards coaching.
Today, I dedicate my life work for you to find and trust your Inner Leadership in pursuing your career success.
I have a special interest in working with high achieving entrepreneurs, power couples, and the misfits and underrepresented who feel like they don't belong.
These are the areas where I have personally done a lot of work in. It's rare that I can't relate to the struggle within them!
Most days you can find me working (and napping) in my sticky note-filled home office overlooking the lake, occasionally answering to 3 young kids through the door gap, and a husband who wouldn't stop asking what to wear for his next TV event. We live nearby Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This is not a zero to hero story. This is a journey.
Yes, you can choose to have a great fulfilling career and follow your soul's calling.
Here's what I stand by - most success seekers and high achievers do not realize that they have a choice. They're too conditioned by the society's definition of success that they become trapped into the a life that they is not even their own.
While some coaches might use terms like 'getting in your own way' or 'self-sabotage', I completely disagree.
There's a bigger systemic factor in play. Your upbringing, the generational trauma that's been passed on to you, the culture you've been through.. All these become part of your subconscious programming without you knowing.
